Preston Sea Cadets

This project envisages a hub of activity on the banks of the River Ribble that brings together various stakeholders within a community project. Encompassing the needs of the Preston Sea Cadets, users of Preston's Guild Wheel and those looking to tap into Preston's rich history of shipbuilding. The build makes subtle nods to the traditional methods used in the construction of ships as well as its environmental standpoint on the pollution of the River Ribble, in particular the effect on the North Atlantic salmon stocks in recent years. Workshops, classrooms, cafe and an impressive river defence that doubles as a grandstand.
